What I did
This week started off with Memorial Day. We went to my cousin’s house to hang. The kids had a great time together! They played dress up and splashed around in the backyard as well.

We all brought random dishes. Kasey whipped up some burgers and hotdogs.

During the week we hosted a virtual version of our Lava Labs Social meet-up. If you don’t know what that is, its a small meet-up Sheena and I put together so that like-minded people that we know could link up and share business ideas, their journey in their businesses and pain points within their businesses. Sheena and I just want to be around that element more so we decided to create a space where we could talk shop with others.
On Friday we hosted a small bible study. We started it last month and the hope is to have one every month. Turn out was great and Sheena prepared the lesson.

Saturday morning the kids and dog like to hop in bed with us. Here’s a shot of our lazy Saturday.

For lunch we tried out Blaze Pizza. Pretty solid!

What did I learn
This week I learned that community is important. As noted above, we spent time with family, had our business meet up and our bible study all in one week. All of these bring different elements of joy and growth for us. I believe that its important to surround yourself with elements you believe you need to grow. I’m sure you’ve heard the term “having a seat at the table”. I like that but sometimes you’re either not invited or you don’t know the “table” exists. In those cases, you should build the table yourself and invite people to it.
