This weekend we had beautiful weather, but a lot of the weekend was spent being indoors. We’ve been doing some painting in the house, so any “free” weekend we have is spend handling that.
On Sunday after church, we went to our friends John and Saru’s house to celebrate their son Luke’s first birthday!
That evening, we went to HYPF’s Battle of the Bands. Sheena and I both were heavily involved back when we were in college. It’s great to see that things are still moving in that organization! The event was great!
Each band had 7 minutes to set up and 5 minute to perform. It was pretty organized and ran smoothly.
As in intermission, a mime duo came and did a quick show. It was very entertaining. The whole crowd came up to snap a quick picture with them.
There were a total of 5 bands. The kids enjoyed watching everything.
Gifty did a really great job MCing and introducing the bands!
Afterwards, there was a potluck styled dinner.
It was a fun event. The four of us really enjoyed going and being able to see all the old faces from our old church. Really great people that we don’t get to see that often anymore.
Good times!
