Weekend Review [Aug. 27th, 2016]

This weekend we ate a lot (we eat a lot every weekend).  Friday night, we didn’t wanna just stay at home, so we went to Torchy’s Tacos for dinner.

It was gooooood.  Shane joined us there as well.  Afterwards, Earl and Asha came to the house, so the kids had a blast (and so did we) just kicking it.

Saturday morning, we met my folks, Blesson and Jolly at The Egg and I for breakfast.  Here’s a pic of Layla planting a kiss on Ezzy.

Mom and Dad wanted to take all of us out.  We always fight about the bill, so we made a rule that whoever sets up the meal, pays for it.

Breakfast was great!  It was surprisingly fast though.  We were in and out in an hour.  Its nice when we can all get together even if it’s just for a quick meal.  Sheena was invited to attend a TEDx talk in Sugar Land, so the kids and I kicked it at the house.  When she got back, we dropped off the kids at Earl and Asha’s house (the benefits of neighbor/friends!) and followed up on a lead for piano.  Sheena’s been wanting one for some time now and we came across a pretty decent deal via the NextDoor app.  After checking it out, we threw it in the back of the truck and brought it home!

Sheena’s liking it!  The kids had a great time at the Thomas house.

For lunch Layla’s been asking to go to Chick-fil-a.  We always order at Chick-fil-a, but we always take it home and eat.  This time she wanted to eat there so that she could play in the play area.

They had fun, but were a little too scared to really explore the space.  Baby steps, I guess…

Sunday, we did our usual run of Church and then HEB.  I headed back to church for a quick meeting about volunteering with the Student Ministry there.  Should be an interesting time!  Later that day Shane came over to hang with the kids.  While Sheena and I were doing things around the house, I look up the stairs and see this…

Apparently Ezzy wanted to dress up like Abby Cadabby.  He’s very secure in his man-hood!

During Ezzy’s birthday, we had a large Thomas the Train balloon.  Once we brought that home, it flew straight up to the ceiling and then got caught on the fan.  With that, a rescue mission had to be done.  This is footage from that mission:

Overall, a successful mission and a fun weekend!
