Back from India

We had to make the unfortunate trip to India on Sept. 18th, 2010 because we received word that Sheena’s father passed away from a massive heart attack in his sleep.  Needless to say, it was a shocking loss.  He was staying in India a few weeks longer after Mom and Dad were there for another funeral.  He loved India.  He was completely happy there, so although it was a hard loss for us, it was exactly how he wanted to go.

So when we heard about the news, we immediately made plans to head over to India to deal with the funeral arrangements.  Luckily Sheena has a lot of family there, who mainly took care of all the details.  All we had to do was show up.  The funeral service went smoothly and even the weather cooperated with us.  We would get on and off days of rain, but the day of the funeral, everything was clear.  I’m surprised on how strong Sheena and her family really are.  I feel that their strength in the matter made others stronger as well.

Thanks to everyone for all the prayers and support.  It is greatly appreciated.  It’s an eye-opening experience to really see all the love that we’re surrounded by.  Not only here in the States, but in India as well.  It really makes the process that much easier for the family.  It also shows how much we need one another, and through that, it makes me want to be better at being there for others as well.
