This past weekend was a blast! My buddy Neil got engaged, so the weekend was filled with festivities. He somehow tricked the wonderful Rita into marrying him… I dunno how he pulled that off, but good job buddy (I’m totally kidding, Neil’s a great dude!).
Saturday morning was the actual ceremony. They rented out a hall in the northside. Sheena did the photography, so we got there a little early so she could scope out the place. It was well decorated, so Sheena (and her cousin Jason Joy) had a fun time snapping some cool shots.
As the ceremony proceeded, everyone sorta mingled among themselves. For me, it was a bit of a reunion. Neil’s got a ton of friends so it was awesome to see people that I haven’t seen in a long time. Layla and I snuck up to the stage to snap a pic while one of the ceremonies were going on.
For the rest of the time, it was more of a daycare. Layla had fun with her buddies, Nathan, Nissa and Serena.
After the ceremony was done, Layla made her way to the stage to snap a pic with the bride to be, Rita.
After the ceremony was done, we made our way back home to rest for a bit. That evening Neil was hosting a party at his parent’s house. It was going to be a late night, so Layla spent the night at my parent’s house. The evening party was awesome! They set up a bunch of tables and chairs on their driveway and everyone basically hung out. So many faces I haven’t seen for a very long time. Great food, great company, great conversations… overall a great time!
You might have heard me mention G-Tribe before. It’s the crew I grew up with. around 1999ish, Pratik’s dad snapped a pic of us. We were able to recreate it that weekend!
Its’s not exact, but at least we’re all in it! Since Sheena had her fancy camera, we decided to get fancy and try to spell GTRIBE in lights.
Neil got a little crazy with the “R”, but it’s his weekend, so we’ll let it slide.
Overall, awesome weekend! If this is what the engagement looked like, I can’t wait for the wedding! Congrats Neil and Rita!

This was wonderful. We enjoyed celebrations. Wish you both,Neil & rita, good luck and have beautiful life together. Watch out from G-tribe. they are nuts and now multiplying in double-triple folds. I (kanu) am glad that I took photo of these young ones in 1999 when they were innocent. Now cross your fingers or ask their wives. Rita now you are joining them soon so have lot more fun & carziness. I am just kidding G-Tribe is excellent & jolly boys.
