Weekend Review [May 15th, 2015]

This weekend we made some plans to knock out things around the house…  The weather has been pretty crappy, so it was perfect timing to do some indoor cleaning.  BUT… by some miracle, Saturday turned out to be pretty awesome…. so we ditched our plans and went to the beach!

Sheena had already planned to go to the 11th Annual Empty Bowls Event at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft (read more about it by clicking here), so we stopped by there first before heading to the beach.  By the time we got there, the kids were passed out, so I stayed in the car with them, while Sheena check out the event.  Here are some pics she snapped of the event.

Next, we headed out to Quintana Beach.  Sheena’s mom called us saying that her church’s youth group were going to be there.  The day was so nice, we had to join ’em!  I’ve never been to Quintana Beach before.  It’s was relativity close.  Only a hour away and an easy drive South down Hwy 288.  Layla was a little scared of the water, but she still enjoyed running back and forth from the waves.

Ezzy loved it!  He was forcing Grandma to go deeper into the ocean!  We forgot to bring his swim shorts, but water diapers are good enough, right?

Layla made sure we stopped to get ice cream while at the beach.

After we got home from the beach, I quickly got ready to meet Wes (my cousin) in the Woodlands for the Dave Mathews Band concert.  It’s been forever since I’ve been to any concert!  Kasey and Sheena conspired to treat us with tickets!

It was a good time!  We had lawn seats, so we rented little lawn chair for $6.  It was well worth it.  DMB never ceases to amaze.  Their live performance is flawless.. It’s like record quality playing!

Sunday after church we went to Ashley’s Graduation party (Sheena’s cousin).  While there, we got to watch our Houston Rockets knock out the Clippers in Game 7!  I’m not a huge sports guy, but it’s just exciting to see our city do well!  The rest of the day was pretty chill.  We just hung out at the house and got ready for the week.

Overall, a pretty great weekend!
