This past weekend, we hosted Ezra’s 1st Birthday party at our house. It was a blast!
We woke up on Sunday morning and got things going.
For the most part, everything was done. We did a bit of decorating during the week. Sheena make some really cool signs to direct people.
That morning, Ezzy and I did a quick run to HEB to get a few things.
The food was a Build-Your-Own Taco Extravaganza. Sheena ordered the food from Garcia’s Meat Market. Super nice people and the food was great! They whipped up some fresh made tortillas as well… it was awesome!
Around 1:30pm, people started trickling in.
The birthday boy stole a quick hug from Mommy in the mix of his party.
After everyone had a chance to eat and chat a bit, we sang Happy Birthday to Ezzy.

Sheena made a pretty awesome smash cake for Ezzy as well.
Layla, Sheena and I helped Ezzy blow out the candle.
Layla got in on the action as well.
I really thought he would have smashed up the cake, but he grabbed a strawberry and nibbled on it a bit. Here’s a quick shot of the crowd during the cake cutting.
The upstairs turned into a toy war zone. I didn’t really get see how things where up there, but I assume everyone had fun!
Layla was excited to open up the gifts “for Ezzy”.

We told guests that gifts weren’t needed, but people couldn’t resist.
The next day (Monday) I took the day off because a plumber was scheduled to come over. So to take advantage of the “free” day, Layla and I started to clean up the game room.
No offense to any of the kiddos, but kids are nasty… so it was time to disinfect…. everything!
Layla and I drew on some of the balloons as well.
Here are some shots from the “photo booth” we set up. I put those in quotes because it was actually just Sheena’s DSLR connected to a TV as a monitor and a remote attached to the camera to snap a pic. Just to make it easier for people to snap pics of themselves. Although there were a lot of guest, not everybody took advantage of the photo booth!
Overall, it was a pretty fun party! It was fun to have everyone over and just kick it. The place was soo packed! It was nice to see that so many people wanted to be a part of Ezzy’s bday, and for that I’m very grateful!
Have a great week!
