This weekend we made a road trip to Dallas to celebrate our good friend Dudley’s wedding.
We rented a bigger ride to just have a little more space on this trip.
I was hoping for a Chevy Suburban, but the Ford Expedition was very impressive! It was great to have the extra room and smooth ride. Once we hit Maddisonville, we had to make the standard stop at Buccee’s.
Once we got into Dallas we drove up to Frisco to Sheena’s cousin’s house to drop off Jacob. It was also a good opportunity to stretch our legs as well.
Then we hopped back into the truck and headed to the hotel. After we got the room situated I came back down for our gear.
Then I rushed out the door to get to the rehearsal.
The church was beautiful.
Here’s a shot of Dudley with his brothers, Abey and Boby at the rehearsal dinner.
That night, we were back at the hotel. I set up some screens and Dudley was at the reception hall doing some last minute touches on the program with his brothers… we had to take one last pic together before he tied the knot…
It got awkward fast.. hahaha! Here’s a shot of the guys burning the midnight oil.
Boby Mathew hooked us up with some socks for the wedding too.
Saturday morning we all met in the lobby of the hotel.
We all hopped into the limo… socks and all!
The Jacobs!
Here’s a shot of us right before starting the ceremony.
Jessica and Jamie did an awesome job singing at the wedding. Josh killed it on the guitar (as usual)!
Here’s my lady and boy all dressed up! Layla was running around with Jacob.
Here’s another groomsmen “sock shot”.
After the ceremony, we jumped into the limo and headed to the reception.
Abey and Boby did an awesome job as MC’s for the reception!
Family Pic!
We ran into a lot of people at the wedding, but Jobbins and Teena followed us to the elevator! Just kidding, we shared the elevator to our rooms.
Here’s Ezzy relaxing after all the wedding fun.
My cousins Jancy and Jisha came by and hung out with us for a lil bit. It was great to see them! Our schedule was so tight that weekend that we weren’t able to go to their house, so it was super sweet that they came to us!
Layla especially loved it!
Later that evening, we headed to Sheena’s cousin’s house for Victoria’s birthday party. Saji and Renee were gracious hosts!
Renee made this cake from scratch! Can you believe it!
Not only did the outside look like a pro did it, but when you cut it open….
SAYYY WHAAAAATTT!!!! A rainbow cake!
We spent the night there. Sunday morning Renee and Saji fixed up a nice breakfast. The kids had a little time to play outside before the 4hr ride back to Houston.
As you can see, Ezzy really enjoyed breakfast!
After we got home and settled in I opened up the groomsmen gift. Dudley hooked up the groomsmen with some Jordan sandals!
Super comfortable!
Overall, it was an awesome weekend! It was tougher on Sheena cause she was essentially trapped in a small hotel room with 2 kids while I did my groomsmen duties, but she’s a trooper and handled it all very well. After all the wedding festivities, it was smooth sailing from there.
Here’s a quick video I made about the weekend:
A huge congrats to Dudley and Betsey! It was a very enjoyable weekend! We’re so happy for you both!
It’s not so “super sweet ” that you came so close (100 feet) to our home, and didn’t visit us…
